The Last Glance
by Yulia Jeltuhin, 2016
ABOUT
This oil on canvas painting can capture anyone’s attention even from a mile away. You just want to stare at this painting of a theatre actor wearing a costume with diamond patterns. Notice how he’s just looking at you eye-to-eye as if wanting to tell you something. His bright blue eyes stare at you as if he’s looking directly into your soul. As you stare at this painting, you wonder what it feels like to be a performer entertaining a huge crowd. This person suddenly looks like he’s having one final look at this audience after a very successful performance. It will be the last time he’s ever going to see this crowd and he’ll soon be off to another place to hold another show. You can see the appreciation in his eyes, it’s as if he’s telling the audience that he will be back.
